1. What this program is
Merlin is a private, personal AI assistant built and operated by the Operator. This SMS program lets a small, closed group of registered users — the Operator himself and family members he personally invites — text questions and requests to the assistant's dedicated phone number and receive conversational replies. The program sends no marketing, no promotions, no bulk messages, and no messages to the public. It is not a commercial service and has no public sign-up.
2. Who sends and who receives messages
- Sender: the Merlin assistant service, from its single dedicated phone number, operated by Dustin Mooney (Mooney & More).
- Recipients: only phone numbers on the program's private allowlist — the Operator and personally invited family members, fewer than ten numbers in total. A number that is not on the allowlist receives no conversational messages from the service.
3. How users opt in (the only enrollment path)
- A prospective user personally asks the Operator — in person or in writing — to enable the assistant for their mobile number. There is no public sign-up page, no web form collecting phone numbers, and no purchased or third-party contact lists.
- The Operator registers that number on the service's private allowlist.
- The user initiates the messaging relationship by sending the first text message to the assistant's number. The service only ever sends messages in reply to a registered user's own texts — it never texts first.
- On the user's first exchange, the service sends a one-time enrollment confirmation: "You're connected to Merlin, Dustin Mooney's AI assistant (Mooney & More). Frequency varies. Msg and data rates may apply. STOP to opt out, HELP for help."
4. Message frequency and rates
Message frequency varies with each user's own use — the service replies when the user texts it. Message and data rates may apply according to the recipient's mobile plan.
5. Opting out and getting help
- Reply STOP (or UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT) at any time to stop all messages. A final confirmation of the opt-out is sent, after which the service sends nothing further. Reply START to re-subscribe.
- Reply HELP (or INFO) for assistance at any time.
6. Privacy
